Crystal Art

I had to promise a couple of pharmacies that ‘eating it’ wasn’t part of my plan.

Yet I still think I may have ended up on some list

Story time

In December 2022, I had a small fire in my kitchen. Completely unrelated to my experiments - of course. I’m just a terrible cook.
However, I ended up calling the fire department to put out the fire. It was a small fire and luckily no harm was done.

Now, my experiments were (and still are) scattered around the house, kitchen included, and I assume this must have raised some concerns with the dear firefighters. Around 1 am, my doorbell rang. It was a couple of police officers. They needed to ‘double check that the fire was put out and I was okay’. Sure. I let them in and showed them to the area of fire. They had zero interest in anything in my house that was related to the fire. They were highly interested in the crystals though.

While I wasn’t arrested, I still think I may have ended up on some list…

Organised chaos

Process

Painting has always been therapeutic for me and my series ‘organised chaos’ started as a therapeutic process for me.

I let go of all constraints and perfectionism, let chaos rule and the paints do their own thing in an uncontrolled way.
Then, I cut each painting into pieces – in this case squares – and lastly, I reorganise and create a new expression from the pieces.
Below is a video showing the last part of my process and it is intended to be the most calm and soothing part of the creation.
